March Gin Monthly

Last month was so mega busy I’ve somehow got to mid-April without publishing my March Gin Monthly, so here it finally is – better late than never and all that!

#GinADayMay 2023

The original and the biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its fifth year running! In 2019, #GinADayMay’s inaugural year, in excess of 4,000 images were posted on Instagram using the #GinADayMay hashtag, averaging at approximately 135 posts a day. With consistent global engagement ever since, there are now almost 22,000 tagged posts on Instagram and I’m hoping for another successful year in 2023.

May Gin Monthly

Wow! I think May might have been my busiest and best month in gin ever. And I’m not even talking about #GinADayMay. I’m talking about visiting not one, not two, but three distilleries, The Gin Archive, Gin Live London and attending my very first Gin Guild dinner and installation! If you want to hear all about it, and see all the pics, read on…

March Gin Monthly

March was, quite frankly, mental. With one panel to host, three articles to write and seven or eight days of judging, I was already struggling to keep on top of it all before covid finally got me after two whole years. In fact, given one of my articles was a few days late and this gin monthly is even later, it is quite apparent I didn’t entirely keep on top of everything! Anyway, better later than never as they say. Here’s what I can still remember from that whirlwind of a month…

#GinADayMay 2022

The original and the biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its fourth year running! Always intended to be a bit of fun, it’s also an opportunity to support and promote the drinks industry in what continues to be a challenging time. For many producers still struggling with the impact of Brexit and Covid, increased energy costs present another challenge for them and yet another reason for us to rally round.

May Gin Monthly

Wowsers, that was one hell of a month! Between #GinADayMay, indoor hospitality reopening and plenty of exciting new gin releases, it really has been a busy one. Here’s my round-up of what I can remember!

April Gin Monthly

What a month! The sun has shone and pub gardens have reopened! The industry still has a long way to go, but finally there is light at the end of tunnel. And that light got a little brighter for me today as I not only had my first haircut in well over a year, but I also got my first covid-19 vaccine! There’s been plenty else going on this month too, mind, so without further ado….

#GinADayMay 2021

After an unusual, but successful, #GinADayMay 2020, the original and biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its third year running! Despite, or perhaps as a result of last year’s lockdown, it was gratifying that makers reported increased engagement as a result of #GinADayMay and heartening to hear other participants not only enjoy taking part but also, and consequently, making new friends, learning new skills and getting to know the gin community better.

June Gin Monthly

I thought maybe I’d have a rest after #GinADayMay but I forgot about Virtua-Palooza. And World Gin Day. And National Martini Day. And one or four virtual tours… suffice to say June has been another busy boozy month!

#GinADayMay 2020 Recap

So, it’s been nearly a month since the month that was #GinADayMay but what a month that was! Ordinarily I would have written the recap a little more promptly but (what with homeschooling two kids and caring for two elderly parents) lockdown hasn’t been particularly easy of late. Anyway, better late than never right? And actually it’s been really lovely for me to look back on it all with a little more distance; it’s really helped me appreciate just how good it all was!
