Wowsers, that was one hell of a month! Between #GinADayMay, indoor hospitality reopening and plenty of exciting new gin releases, it really has been a busy one. Here’s my round-up of what I can remember!Continue reading
What a month! The sun has shone and pub gardens have reopened! The industry still has a long way to go, but finally there is light at the end of tunnel. And that light got a little brighter for me today as I not only had my first haircut in well over a year, but I also got my first covid-19 vaccine! There’s been plenty else going on this month too, mind, so without further ado….Continue reading
After an unusual, but successful, #GinADayMay 2020, the original and biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its third year running! Despite, or perhaps as a result of last year’s lockdown, it was gratifying that makers reported increased engagement as a result of #GinADayMay and heartening to hear other participants not only enjoy taking part but also, and consequently, making new friends, learning new skills and getting to know the gin community better.Continue reading
So, it’s been nearly a month since the month that was #GinADayMay but what a month that was! Ordinarily I would have written the recap a little more promptly but (what with homeschooling two kids and caring for two elderly parents) lockdown hasn’t been particularly easy of late. Anyway, better late than never right? And actually it’s been really lovely for me to look back on it all with a little more distance; it’s really helped me appreciate just how good it all was!Continue reading

Good grief. What a month it’s been. March may have begun normally enough but it couldn’t have ended more differently as we all find ourselves living in lockdown with the hospitality industry (among many, many others) facing unprecedented uncertainty.Continue reading
Thanks to the success of #GinADayMay 2019, it’s back for 2020! However, these couldn’t be stranger times we find ourselves in. As we are increasingly encouraged to physically distance ourselves from one another to help limit the spread of Covid-19, social media can play an important part in mentally bringing people together again. #GinADayMay was always about uniting and strengthening the gin community but, with the hospitality industry facing unimaginable challenges in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis, it is my hope that by sharing and promoting our favourite brands and businesses we can also help support them through these incredibly tough times.Continue reading
May was mega but this month – with World Gin Day, Junipalooza, Think Gin, National Martini Day and Negroni Week – should probably just be renamed June-iper!
