#GinADayMay 2024

The original and the biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its sixth year running! In 2019, #GinADayMay’s inaugural year, in excess of 4,000 images were posted on Instagram using the #GinADayMay hashtag, averaging at approximately 135 posts a day. With consistent global engagement ever since, there are now over 25,000 tagged posts on Instagram and I’m hoping for another successful year in 2024.

March Gin Monthly

March was, quite frankly, mental. With one panel to host, three articles to write and seven or eight days of judging, I was already struggling to keep on top of it all before covid finally got me after two whole years. In fact, given one of my articles was a few days late and this gin monthly is even later, it is quite apparent I didn’t entirely keep on top of everything! Anyway, better later than never as they say. Here’s what I can still remember from that whirlwind of a month…

#GinADayMay 2022

The original and the biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its fourth year running! Always intended to be a bit of fun, it’s also an opportunity to support and promote the drinks industry in what continues to be a challenging time. For many producers still struggling with the impact of Brexit and Covid, increased energy costs present another challenge for them and yet another reason for us to rally round.

#GinADayMay 2021

After an unusual, but successful, #GinADayMay 2020, the original and biggest gin-themed social media challenge is back for its third year running! Despite, or perhaps as a result of last year’s lockdown, it was gratifying that makers reported increased engagement as a result of #GinADayMay and heartening to hear other participants not only enjoy taking part but also, and consequently, making new friends, learning new skills and getting to know the gin community better.

#GinADayMay 2020 Recap

So, it’s been nearly a month since the month that was #GinADayMay but what a month that was! Ordinarily I would have written the recap a little more promptly but (what with homeschooling two kids and caring for two elderly parents) lockdown hasn’t been particularly easy of late. Anyway, better late than never right? And actually it’s been really lovely for me to look back on it all with a little more distance; it’s really helped me appreciate just how good it all was!

#GinADayMay 2020

Thanks to the success of #GinADayMay 2019, it’s back for 2020! However, these couldn’t be stranger times we find ourselves in. As we are increasingly encouraged to physically distance ourselves from one another to help limit the spread of Covid-19, social media can play an important part in mentally bringing people together again. #GinADayMay was always about uniting and strengthening the gin community but, with the hospitality industry facing unimaginable challenges in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis, it is my hope that by sharing and promoting our favourite brands and businesses we can also help support them through these incredibly tough times.

April Gin Monthly

Well, April was supposed to be a healthy month after the birthday indulgences of March but, between the school holidays and some exciting new gin releases, things didn’t exactly go to plan! Read all about it below.

#GinADayMay 2019

I love gin, and I want to promote and protect it, but sometimes it all feels like it’s become a little bit serious. So I’ve come up with a fun idea that I hope will encourage collaboration, communication and creativity. The idea is a social media challenge called #GinADayMay and I really hope you’ll all join in!
